The Cuisinart Grind and Brew.Contrary, to the lame reviews that the 1 and 2 star people have given to this coffee maker, I have found this maker to brew the best and Hottest cup of coffee I have ever had out of a home coffee maker. There has never been an issue with cleaning the coffee filter area as others seem to have had a problem with. Coffee's. BIG friggin deal.
So, don't be afraid to buy this great Cuisinart Coffee Maker. The thing just works GREAT. This means that it's used at least 3 or 4 times a day. You won't be disappointed. It's so consistent from use to use as well. While there are people at my office that look at it and look like confused Scooby Doo's, these are the same as the 1 or 2 star people. They just give up if they have to do anything out of the ordinary in life. Yes, great taste, that we couldn't get out of our past Mr.
We're using it in a work environment. GO FOR IT. Yes, you have to clean it and there are a few hidden spots that you have to find at first. After cleaning it a couple times, it takes 2 minutes max to get the job done and ready for the next cup of coffee.
I would not purchase it again. I have this coffee maker. It makes mediocre coffee at best and doesn't keep it hot.
So, now its time to get a Mr. Now I have to deal with the problem about the constant burned coffee I get due to the hotplate running to hot I guess. I no longer use the integrated grinder, I find it grinds to course and that mixed with the reusable filter allows to fast of a brew leading to weak coffee. Coffee with stainless thermal carafe and for $50. I get much better results, albeit not great still. I've had this model for about 4 years now and stopped using it after a few months due to the weak coffee and the mess you have to clean up everytime.
After returning, I decided to give it a try again and this time have come to a better way to use this maker with better results. I was thinking of getting a stainless carafe for it, but it costs $50 on amazon - I don't even know if this is compatible. I moved to Germany for a year after this and packed it away. So, now its just a regular coffee maker again that was overpaid for. I'm sure it will make good coffee too.Sorry Cuisinart - stick to food processors and ice cream makers - not much to screw up there. Coffee in europe will make you hate the weak result from this model even more.
So now I grind with my old grinder, get a nice fine grind, then use a good ol' fashioned paper filter.
Nothing like a freshly ground cup of coffee each morning. Price is right also. Excellent coffeemaker - can't find a thing wrong with it. Would recommend this to anyone.
There isn't a way to control the consistancy of the grounds but they have always been very fine and produced good coffee. I want to buy a permanent filter for it but I am worried the grounds may go through it. I saw some pretty bad reviews for this product after I bought it but I like it. If anything its a bit too fine. Has anyone come across this problem. Yes, you need to clean the grinder, the filter container and the pot but you would need to clean that on any grinding coffee pot anyway. Yes, the grinder is loud, but aren't all grinders.
